A shocking new twist has emerged in the murder case of former Ajmer sarpanch Ram Singh Chaudhary, whose death was initially believed to be the result of a car fire accident. Police now suspect that the killings were part of a planned conspiracy allegedly involving members of his own family.
According to an NDTV report, the case began to unravel after investigators grew suspicious of the behaviour of Ram Singh Chaudhary’s 17-year-old son.
Ram Singh, his second wife Surgyan, his mother Pusi Devi, and niece Mahima were found dead inside a burnt vehicle. While relatives were grieving, police noticed that the teenager appeared unusually composed during the investigation.
How suspicion began
As per the report, the family initially claimed that Ram Singh was taking his ailing mother to a hospital when the vehicle suddenly caught fire, killing everyone inside.
However, investigators soon noticed several inconsistencies in the story. Police reportedly found it unusual that the teenager remained calm while others were in distress. He was seen sitting beside his crying mother, comforting her and casually drinking tea.

Investigators also discovered that no one had been seated in the front portion of the vehicle. More importantly, Surgyan’s body showed stab injuries, raising doubts about the accident theory.
What police found during investigation
According to police, the teenager later confessed during questioning. During the probe, investigators uncovered long-standing tensions within the family after Ram Singh Chaudhary’s second marriage.
Police said the children allegedly resented their father and believed their mother had been mistreated. Investigators also claim the teenager felt controlled and unhappy within the household.
Ram Singh lived at a farmhouse in Shrirampura village, nearly 60 kilometres from Ajmer, along with his two wives, mother, and niece.
Police suspect the murders had been planned for nearly five months.
Investigators claim the teenager frequently watched crime-based web series, studied police investigations, and spent hours playing online games. Authorities believe he tried to learn how crimes are carried out and how evidence can be destroyed.
What happened on the night of the murder
Police said Ram Singh and Surgyan consumed beer before going to sleep on the night of the incident.
Investigators believe the teenager stayed awake until around 4 am, using his mobile phone before allegedly entering Ram Singh’s room.
According to police, he attacked his father with a knife near the ear while he was asleep.
However, investigators believe things did not go according to plan. Surgyan woke up during the attack and tried to stop him while raising an alarm.
Police suspect the noise brought Pusi Devi and Mahima into the room. Investigators allege that the accused’s mother-- Ram Singh’s first wife and his sister then joined in and helped kill the other victims.
Police said there had been disputes within the family over finances, property matters, and inheritance. Investigators claim Surgyan and Mahima handled land deals, bank accounts, and financial matters, which allegedly became a source of tension.
Attempt to make it look like an accident
After the murders, police believe the accused attempted to portray the incident as a road accident. Investigators suspect the bodies were placed inside the vehicle before it was set on fire to destroy evidence.
However, the plan allegedly failed after police found stab wounds on one victim and noticed that all the bodies were located in the rear section of the vehicle. The investigation in the case is ongoing.
