An ammonia gas leak occurred on Sunday evening at the Fair Export Meat Factory in Talsapur, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, causing six workers, one man and five women, to lose consciousness. They have been admitted to a private hospital, and rescue operations are underway. 

Aligarh police reported on X that the police and fire service teams swiftly arrived at the scene and contained the gas leak. Several individuals who experienced coughing and vomiting were promptly sent for medical treatment. An investigation will be carried out to identify the cause of the leak, and appropriate actions will be taken. The situation at the site is now under control.

Upon receiving the incident report, ADM City, City Magistrate, Police Circle Officer, and local police arrived at the site. They inspected the scene and assessed the factory’s safety standards, as reported by Etv. The police halted factory operations and initiated an investigation into the cause of the gas leak. Local residents blamed the factory management for negligence, citing the lack of proper safety measures when handling dangerous chemicals like ammonia gas.

The administration is investigating the matter, and the factory's management is being questioned. The gas leak caused panic in the surrounding area, and some individuals who complained of coughing and vomiting were sent to the hospital for treatment.

There was a similar incident earlier at a meat factory in Aligarh. On September 29, 2022, ammonia gas leaked at the meat factory of BSP leader and prominent meat exporter Haji Zaheer's Aldua Food Processing Unit, resulting in 59 female workers losing consciousness.

Dozens of men and women fell unconscious due to the gas leak and were rushed to J N hospital for treatment. The cause of the gas leak is currently under investigation.
