The government has scheduled an all-party meeting today in preparation for the Monsoon Session of Parliament, which will commence on July 22 and conclude on August 12. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget on July 23. This budget session will be the first after the 2024 general elections and the formation of the 18th Lok Sabha in which BJP and its allies retained their majority securing the third term for PM Modi.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju will lead the meeting with the floor leaders of all political parties. The all-party meeting will take place at 11 a.m. in the Main Committee Room, Parliament House Annexe, New Delhi.
The budget presentation will be followed by discussions in both houses of Parliament.

In the previous Parliament session, the opposition INDIA bloc raised various issues, including the NEET controversy, the Manipur situation, and rising prices, causing disruptions. Protests were also seen during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's speech on the Motion of Thanks, with opposition MPs shouting slogans and staging walkouts in Rajya Sabha.
TMC Likely To Skip All-Party Meet
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) will likely skip the meeting as the party observes July 21 as Martyrs' Day to honor 13 Congress supporters who were killed in 1993 when the Kolkata Police fired on a march. This event took place when the CPI(M)-led Left Front was in power in West Bengal. TMC leader Mamata Banerjee has marked this day with a rally annually since the incident.
