The registration for booking of Amarnath Yatra 2024 started on Monday. The annual pilgrimage, which is scheduled to begin on June 29 and culminate on August 19, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan. Devotees who want to visit the shrine located in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district can now register at 540 designated bank branches across India, including Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India and Yes Bank or through the Shrine Board’s website.  

The Shrine Board has set specific eligibility criteria to ensure a safe and organised pilgrimage. Pilgrims below the age of 13 or above 70, as well as women who are more than six weeks pregnant, will not be able to register for this year’s Amarnath Yatra. 

Amarnath Yatra 2024 Health Certificate 

Devotees registering for the Amarnath Yatra 2024 must have health certificates issued by doctors and medical facilities authorised either by state governments or the Centre. Notably, health certificates issued after April 8, 2024, will be considered valid for Amarnath Yatra 2024.

Amarnath Yatra 2024 Registration Fee

In addition to the registration fee of Rs 250 per pilgrim, devotees are required to provide a photograph of each applicant, the name of the group leader and contact details including a mobile phone number and an active email address. The postal charges for sending these documents vary depending on the number of pilgrims in a group, ranging from Rs 50 for a group of one to five, to Rs 300 for a group of 26 to 30. All fees and postal charges are to be directed to the Chief Account Officer of Shri Amarnathji Shrine.

This structured approach by the Shrine Board aims to facilitate a fulfilling spiritual experience for all participants, emphasising the importance of adhering to the guidelines provided.

Amarnath Yatra 2024 Guidelines For Pilgrims 

  • Age Restrictions: Pilgrims below 13 or above 70 years, and women over six weeks pregnant are ineligible for registration.

  • Health Certificate: A mandatory health certificate, issued by authorised doctors and medical institutions recognized by all state and UT governments, is required.

  • Banks for Registration: Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India and Yes Bank.

  • Required Documents: Photograph of each applicant, Yatra registration fee of Rs 250 per pilgrim, group leader’s name, mobile number, and address, including email.

  • Postal Charges: Rs 50 for 1-5 pilgrims, Rs 100 for 6-10, Rs 150 for 11-15, Rs 200 for 16-20, Rs 250 for 21-25, and Rs 300 for 26-30 pilgrims.

  • Validity of Health Certificate: Certificates issued after April 8 are valid for this year’s Yatra.
