Amarnath Yatra 2026: With the annual 57-day Amarnath Yatra scheduled to commence on July 3, 2026, on-the-spot registration began on Wednesday, drawing hundreds of devotees to designated centres across Jammu.
According to news agency PTI, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha will flag off the first batch of pilgrims from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp.

The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) has announced the schedule for Amarnath Yatra 2026. This year, the holy pilgrimage will continue for 57 days, beginning on July 3, 2026, and concluding on August 28, 2026.
As per tradition, the yatra will conclude on Raksha Bandhan, when the sacred mace, Chhari Mubarak, arrives at the holy cave shrine. Below is the complete schedule of the 57-day pilgrimage.

Registration process for the Amarnath Yatra 2026 began on April 15. Pilgrims can register online via the official website or the Shri Amarnathji Yatra mobile app. To register, you will need to:
- Visit the official SASB website.
- Click on the 'Register' button and carefully read all instructions.
- Agree to the terms and proceed by clicking 'I Agree'.
- Fill in your details and upload the required documents.
- Verify your mobile number through the OTP sent to you.
- You will receive a payment link within two hours; make the payment.
- After successful payment, download your Yatra Permit.
Amarnath Yatra 2026 Group Registration
If you are travelling as a group:
- Download the group registration form from the SASB website.
- Submit the filled form with the required documents.
Offline Registration For Amarnath Yatra
Pilgrims can also register at over 500 authorised bank branches across India, including State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, and Axis Bank on a first-come, first-served basis.
On-The Spot Amarnath Yatra Registration Process
The on-the-spot registration for the Amarnath Yatra began on Wednesday morning for token holders, while token distribution continued for a second consecutive day for pilgrims arriving in Jammu. The administration had previously started distributing tokens on June 30. Counters for registration and token distribution are located at the Tawi riverfront near the artificial lake, Geeta Bhawan, Ram Mandir, and Bhagwati Nagar. The issuance of RFID cards also began today.
Amarnath Yatra 2026: Documents Required For Registration
- Attendees are required to submit a Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) issued on or after April 8, 2026, by authorised doctors or designated medical institutions.
- A recent passport-size photo (JPEG/JPG format, not larger than 1MB).
