‘WARIS De Punjab’ Chief Amritpal Singh on Sunday surrendered in Punjab's Moga month after the police launched a massive crackdown against him and the members of his outfit.

Amritpal, the Khalistani-Pakistan agent, had been on the run from the Punjab Police since March 18. He had escaped the police net in Jalandhar district by switching vehicles and changing appearances. The radical leader had been declared a "fugitive" while he was on a run.

Here is everything you need to know about now arrested Amritpal Singh

Singh was at the centre of a huge protest against the arrest of his aide in February. He calls himself a follower of the Khalistani separatist and terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and is known as "Bhindranwale 2.0" among his supporters.

Two more aides of the fugitive radical preacher were arrested at Mohali in Punjab, in a joint operation by Punjab and Delhi Police on April 18. On April 15, Punjab Police arrested his close aide Joga Singh from Sirhind in the Fatehgarh Sahib district. Another close aid of the pro khalistani leader, Papalpreet Singh was arrested on April 10, in an operation conducted by Punjab Police and its counter-intelligence unit.

According to reports, Singh was sourcing weapons from Pakistan through its spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence and trying to divide Punjab into communal lines. Amritpal Singh had been allegedly leading young people towards "gun culture".

Amritpal Singh used to wander around with his private militia, all of them armed. He also maintained a large convoy of expensive vehicles without giving any account of the expenses and sources of money.
