Andhra Pradesh High Court adjourned the bail petition of Telegu Desham Party leader and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu to September 21. The development, seen as a blow to the TDP chief, came after the party's legal team filed an interim bail petition at the High Court.
High Court, in a virtual session, adjourned the bail hearing to September 21 after listening to the arguments of TDP lawyer Siddarth Luthra.
Telegu Desam Party also raised the issue of Chandrababu's arrest at the all-party meeting held before the special session of Parliament. The condemnation also led to the exchange of heated arguments by the MPs of both parties, reported ANI.
Alleging of YSR Congress of killing democracy in the state, TDP leader Ram Mohan Naidu sought the intervention of the Central government in the matter, whereas, TDP MPs sat on a protest near the Gandhi statue on Parliament premises on Monday.
According to the senior leaders of TDP, the Party is also planning to raise the issue during the special session of Parliament.
"The party will raise the TDP chief's arrest during the special session of the Parliament," said TDP MP Ram Mohan Naidu to ANI.
Earlier, the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sent the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief to judicial custody until September 23 in connection with an alleged skill development scam.
The order was given by Vijayawada ACB court Judge Himabindu in which the judge ordered the remand of Naidu for 14 days to judicial custody and suggested taking former CM to Rajahmundry Central Jail.
According to officials, the case pertains to the establishment of clusters of Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in the state of Andhra Pradesh, with a total estimated project value of Rs 3300 crore. According to ANI, the agency officials also claimed that the alleged fraud has caused a huge loss to the state government over Rs 300 crore.
