Andhra Firecrackers Explosion: An explosion at a transport facility in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, left four individuals injured on Monday morning. The incident occurred while porters were unloading goods, leading to immediate panic among workers.
The explosion was caused by a parcel of firecrackers that had arrived from Hyderabad. According to CCTV footage, six porters were unloading the goods when one of them lifted a large carton covered in a white sheet. At approximately 8:19 AM, as he dropped the box, it exploded, causing a loud blast that sent workers fleeing for safety.
The explosion occurred close to where several labourers were stationed, resulting in serious injuries to four of them, particularly affecting their faces and legs. The injured were quickly transported to the Kakinada Government General Hospital for treatment. Medical staff confirmed that their injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
Kakinada District Superintendent of Police (SP) Bindu Madhav addressed the incident, stating, "The explosion occurred at Jai Balaji Transporters when workers were unloading a parcel. Due to the impact, the firecrackers exploded, injuring four people."

In the aftermath, police seized two additional bags of firecrackers and have initiated an investigation into the matter.

In separate news, the NTR district police in Andhra Pradesh have uncovered a child trafficking racket, arresting five women, including mastermind Bagalam Sarojini, 31. Sarojini, along with her accomplices, sold children, mostly sourced from Delhi and Ahmedabad, to childless couples for large sums. Three children—one boy, aged one, a two-year-old girl, and a three-year-old boy—were rescued. Sarojini had sold seven children in the past six months and had four more ready for sale. The accused used fake documents to deceive buyers. Police have filed a case under the Juvenile Justice Act and are investigating further, ensuring proper care for the rescued children.
