Andhra Pradesh News: A mother has been accused of killing her son after he allegedly attempted to rape his aunts in Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh. The victim, identified as 35-year-old K. Shyam Prasad, was reportedly dismembered by his mother, K. Lakshmi Devi and some relatives.

According to Superintendent of Police A.R. Damodar, the incident occurred on February 13. Lakshmi Devi is said to have used an axe or a sharp weapon to kill her son, unable to tolerate his "perverted and indecent behaviour." Prasad, who was unmarried, had a history of inappropriate actions towards his aunts and relatives in cities including Bengaluru, Khammam, and Hyderabad.

After the murder, his body was cut into five pieces, placed in three sacks and disposed of in the Nakalagandi canal in Cumbum village. Lakshmi Devi is currently on the run and police have launched a manhunt to apprehend her and any accomplices involved in the crime.

In separate news, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu condemned the acid attack on a young woman in Perampalli village, Annamayya district and instructed officials to take stringent action against the accused. He also assured the victim’s family of full government support and the best medical care. Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha responded by inquiring about the victim’s condition, promising strict action against the attacker, and directing police to arrest them immediately.

Minister Nara Lokesh expressed deep concern, called the victim “like a sister,” and assured her family of full support. He also coordinated with Minister Mandupalli Ramprasad to ensure proper medical arrangements for the victim. The attack has sparked widespread outrage, with the government vowing to take strong measures to prevent such crimes. The authorities are committed to providing swift justice and ensuring the victim receives the best possible treatment.
