Ambedkar Samman Scholarship For Dalit Students: Delhi Government has announced a scholarship in the name of Baba Saheb Dr Ambedkar. It has been named Ambedkar Samman Scholarship. Under this scheme, students of Dalit community will be given financial aid to study abroad. Former chief minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal said that children of government employees will also be benefited under this scheme.

"...I want to ensure that no person from the Dalit community is deprived of higher education, for this, I am announcing the Dr Ambedkar Scholarship. Now any student from the Dalit community who wants to study in top universities across the world, the Delhi government will bear their expenses after the admission of the students...This scholarship will also be applicable to government employees from the Dalit community...We are giving an answer to BJP and Union Home Minister Amit Shah who disrespected Dr BR Ambedkar by announcing the Dr Ambedkar Scholarship…” said Kejriwal, as quoted by news agency ANI.

Children Of Dalit Employees And Officers Will Also Get Benefits
He also clarified that the children of employees and officers from the Dalit class will also be able to benefit from this scheme.
Kejriwal said that just like Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar had gone abroad to receive higher education, similarly now the children of the Dalit community in Delhi will also be able to go abroad and study without any expense. To ensure that no child of the Dalit community is deprived of higher education due to lack of money, 'Dr. Ambedkar Samman Scholarship' will be given. If the children of the Dalit community take admission in any university abroad, the AAP government will bear all the expenses.
