The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will today observe a day-long fast against the arrest of party convener Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi liquor policy case. The Enforcement Directorate on March 21 arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after hours-long questioning in an alleged money laundering case linked with the excise policy case. AAP leader Gopal Rai on Saturday said the party leaders and supporters will gather at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar to undertake a mass fast. A similar program has been organised at Punjab’s Village Khatkar Kalan, which is the ancestral village of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
Rai said community fasting, against Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest will take place across 25 states in India. Besides, AAP supports in foreign countries, including New York, Boston, Toronto, Washington DC, Melbourne, and London, will also participate in the protest.
“Simultaneously, in 25 states across India and key international hubs including New York, Boston, Toronto, Washington DC, Melbourne, and London, supporters will extend their support to Kejriwal through community fasting,” Rai said.
Gopal Rai urged the people across the country to participate in the party’s program at several places, including homes, villages, neighbourhoods, block headquarters, tehsils, districts, and state capitals. He also asked people to listen to "Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram" on YouTube, expressing solidarity with Arvind Kejriwal.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested hours after the Delhi High Court turned down his interim protection plea. Kejriwal was sent to ED custody until March 28, which was extended until April 1.
On April 1, he was sent to judicial custody for 15 days by the court after ED said they didn’t want to further question him, adding that he was "uncooperative" and gave evasive answers.
