2011: Kejriwal Arrested With Anna Hazare

Kejriwal's first encounter with imprisonment was in 2011, when he joined social activist Anna Hazare during the Lokpal demand agitation. At that time, Kejriwal and his associates were sent to judicial custody for refusing to sign a personal bond against violating Section 144 of the CrPC, which imposes restrictions on assembly of four or more people.

The arrest prompted a large number of support from Anna's followers, who gathered outside the jail in protest throughout the day.

2014: Kejriwal Jailed In Defamation Case

In 2014, Kejriwal's second imprisonment occurred in connection with a defamation case filed against him by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nitin Gadkari. By then, Kejriwal had established the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and assumed leadership. He was housed in jail number four, attracting attention from nearby residents when news of his arrival spread. Kejriwal arrived in a WagonR car and a large number of people gathered to catch a glimpse of him.

Now, the Delhi Chief Minister has found himself in Tihar Jail again. However, this time the circumstances are different. Kejriwal stands accused of involvement in a money laundering scam, marking the first time he has faced such allegations while holding the position of Chief Minister.
