Reacting on Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) concern over Arvind Kejriwal’s weight loss in Tihar Jail, the officials said they have been actively monitoring the health of Delhi Chief Minister, adding that his vitals were normal. The Office of the Superintendent of Central Jail No 2, in a statement, said the AAP supremo was being given home cooked food as per the court’s order.

"Despite a slight weight loss, his vitals remain normal, and he receives appropriate medical care for all his ailments", the statement read.

The officials also said Kejriwal’s health report contradicts the claims made by the AAP leaders and a narrative, ‘driven by ulterior motives’ was being build to undermine the jail authorities.

The jail authorities has also released Kejriwal’s weight chart, which depicts the latter’s weight measured at regular intervals. "The details have been communicated to various government officials for awareness and necessary action. Now we can offer this with a documented weight chart from 63.5 kg to 61.5 kg from June 2 to July 14," the statement added.

Tihar Jail's response came after AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh alleged that Arvind Kejriwal lost 8.5 kg and experienced his blood sugar level dropping below 50 mg/dL at five occasions since his arrest. At a press conference, Singh claimed that the BJP-led central government was conspiring to cause Kejriwal to develop a "serious disease," calling the situation "highly worrisome."

On Tihar's statement, Singh said releasing such medical reports was an offence and it was a testimony that a conspiracy was being hatched against Kejriwal. "Making the medical report of any patient public is an offence. Several times the jail administration has made the medical report of the CM of Delhi public. This proves that a conspiracy is being hatched to play with the life of Arvind Kejriwal...Action should be taken on this...," AAP's Rajya Sabha MP said while talking to news agency ANI.
