The license of Mumbai’s Sai Prasad Bar, where BMW hit-and-run accused Mihir Shah bought four bottles of beer from before the tragic accident, has been cancelled over alleged violations. Mihir bought few bottles of beer from this bar in Malad and consumed them inside his high-end car. Before buying beer, the accused and his three friends had over a dozen glasses of whiskey at Vice-Global Tapas Bar in Juhu.
According to police sources, cited by NDTV, the bar's license was suspended for selling beer to the accused after the deadline. During the raid, officials also discovered that the security camera footage had been deleted.
Mihir Shah, the son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah (Shinde), fatally struck a woman with his high-end BMW car, resulting in her death. The incident occurred near Atria Mall in Worli, when Kaveri Nakhwa and her husband were riding a scooter. The BMW collided with them, killing Kaveri Nakhwa and injuring her husband.
As per police, the accused was "heavily drunk... and on a joyride" at the time of the horrific collision.
Shah escaped the incident site soon after the incident. He was arrested from Virar after remaining untraceable for three days.
Earlier, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished the 'illegal' section of a Juhu bar, where the accused in the Worli hit-and-run case had visited before the July 7 accident.
The BMC took this action under the relevant provisions of the Bombay Foreign Liquor Rules, 1953. The Mumbai police had sealed the bar on Tuesday following a search operation.
Shah was served liquor at Vice Global Tapas Bar, resulting in the cancellation of the bar's license for serving hard liquor to him, as he was below 25 years. Additionally, the excise department identified several irregularities at the bar.
