Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday announced he will relinquish the Delhi Chief Minister post in two days and will only accept it after a public mandate in his favour, hinting at the upcoming Assembly election in the national capital. Kejriwal said he would go to the public to seek validation of his innocence in the backdrop of an ongoing probe against him in the liquor policy scam.
Kejriwal was released from Tihar Jail on Friday after the Supreme Court granted him bail in the corruption case linked to the excise policy.

“Friends, I will resign from the CM post after two days. I will not accept this post till the people deliver their verdict. I will visit every household. Delhi will go into the Assembly election in the next few months. I appeal to everyone to vote for us if you feel Kejriwal is honest. Your each vote will be a certificate of my honesty. I will only accept the CM chair only when you cast your vote in favour of AAP in the upcoming assembly polls,” he said while addressing the party workers.

Kejriwal said Manish Sisodia too would not accept any post until he is vindicated by the public.
The AAP supremo announced next CM will be chosen following a meeting with party MLAs. “In two days, there will be a meeting of the party's legislative group, where a decision will be made about the next Chief Minister. We will go to the court of public opinion, and when the people make me the Chief Minister again, then I will sit in this chair,” Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal also slammed the BJP and Delhi LG for imposing dictatorship. "95 years after Bhagat Singh's martyrdom, I had written a letter to the LG Sahib about hoisting the flag on August 15. However, my letter did not reach the LG Sahib. It was returned to me with a warning that if I wrote another letter, my family meetings would be stopped. I will remember this warning for the rest of my life," he said.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal will be leading the AAP's campaign in Haryana in view of the forthcoming Assembly polls.
