Delhi: Days after his resignation as Delhi Chief Minister, AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal vacated the official CM residence on Friday. Kejriwal, along with his family, moved to a party MP's bungalow in the Lutyens' Delhi, party sources said.

The new address 5, Ferozeshah Road, which is close to the AAP headquarters, was officially allotted to the party's Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab Ashok Mittal. According to an ANI report, Mittal himself offered the residence to Kejriwal, a few sources in the party indicated.

"Arvind Kejriwal is looking for a property which is non-disputed and there is no problem in living there," the party stated.

Meanwhile, former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia shifted to a bungalow on Rajendra Prasad Road, which is the official residence of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh, a PTI report stated.

According to AAP Minister Bharadwaj, many party leaders—including MPs, MLAs, and councillors—offered their homes to Kejriwal after he decided to move out of 6, Flagstaff Road in North Delhi's Civil Lines, where he had resided since 2015 as chief minister.

New House Closer To Party Office

With the Delhi elections around the corner, Arvind Kejriwal reportedly wanted a residence closer to the party headquarters at Ravi Shankar Shukla Lane. Residing in New Delhi, his Assembly constituency, Kejriwal will oversee AAP's campaign for the upcoming elections in Delhi and other states, according to party leaders.

Expressing his happiness over the party chief's decision to choose his residence, MP Ashok Mittal termed it a "great joy".

"When he (Kejriwal) resigned as the chief minister, I came to know that he had no place to stay... I invited him to be my guest at my Delhi residence, and it brings me great joy that he has accepted my request," Mittal said.
