In a big relief to the middle-class households, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday made the announcement on his 'X' handle. Taking to social media X, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma reassured citizens that the initiative was not an April Fool’s prank but a genuine effort to provide relief. The current unit price is Rs 5.90.

What’s The Electricity Cost In Assam?

In Assam, domestic electricity price depends on consumption slabs, while commercial establishments are charged Rs 8.60 per unit. The Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), regulated by the Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission (AERC), oversees the power distribution and tariff implementation.
