AAP leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi criticised the BJP government and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for not approving the Rs 2,500 financial assistance scheme for women in its first cabinet meeting, as promised before elections. Atishi accused the BJP of breaking its commitment and ‘deceiving’ the people of Delhi.

In a video statement, she claimed, "BJP had assured Delhi's women that the scheme would be passed in the first cabinet meeting. However, after taking the oath, CM Rekha Gupta and her ministers failed to approve it. The BJP has already begun breaking its promises."

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who chaired the cabinet meeting on Thursday, announced that her government will implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme with a Rs 5 lakh top-up and table 14 pending CAG reports in the first Assembly session.

Reacting to Atishi’s allegations, Gupta defended her government’s priorities, asserting that BJP will decide its own agenda. "This is our government, and we will set our priorities. Let us work; she need not dictate our decisions," Gupta said.

Addressing the media, CM Rekha Gupta reiterated BJP’s commitment to its poll promises, stating, "We have discussed and approved two key decisions—the implementation of Ayushman Bharat in Delhi with a Rs 5 lakh top-up and the presentation of 14 pending CAG reports in the Assembly." She added that the Delhi government would fund the top-up and sign an MoU with the Centre.
