Amid the Cockroach Janta Party's march from Jantar Mantar to Parliament on Monday, protesters refused to disperse despite heavy police barricading, a lathicharge, and the use of tear gas. They also raised slogans demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The march, which saw the participation of students and people from across Delhi, was stopped near Parliament Street, where police had erected multiple layers of barricades.
Amid the protest, a video showing a man confronting security personnel has gone viral on social media. The footage shows the man standing in front of several security personnel and challenging them to beat him with batons if that was what they intended to do. The personnel are seen carrying batons and wearing helmets and riot gear, while the man was unarmed, only carrying his mobile phone.
In the video, the man loses his cool and is heard telling the security personnel, “maaro sir, maaro sir (beat me, sir)”. He continues to stand his ground as personnel strike him with batons before briefly stopping. The man then turns, lets out aggressive screams, and is subsequently taken away as other security personnel intervene.

According to PTI, protesters attempted to breach multiple barricades in the high-security zone, leading to a scuffle in which some protesters and police personnel sustained minor injuries.
A heavy deployment of uniformed and plainclothes police personnel was in place to prevent protesters from marching towards Parliament.

However, New Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police Sachin Sharma said that not a single Delhi Police personnel had used force against protesters.
In a statement posted on its official X handle, Delhi Police said, "Some segments from media have mentioned sporadic use of violence/detentions at Jantar Mantar by Delhi Police. It is informed that no such incident has taken place and protest is being handled professionally. All are requested not to fall prey to any rumour/misgivings and to assist Delhi Police in maintaining peace and public order at and around the site."

CJP claims founder Abhijeet Dipke detained
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke was detained by police and alleged that security personnel used force against peaceful protesters, PTI reported.
In a post on X, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said, "Dipke has been picked up by the police."
"We request all MPs to immediately stand in support of the students on the streets. The police are brutally cracking down and beating peaceful protesters," he alleged.
Thousands of students, activists, and professionals had gathered at and around Jantar Mantar on the opening day of the Monsoon Session before marching towards Parliament, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
