He listened to the Kamba Ramayana recital at Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple on Saturday. Kampan performed his Ramayana for the first time in public at this temple. He also took a holy dip into the sea, known as Agni Tirtham. The Shiva temple, tucked away in the Rameswaram island of Tamil Nadu's Ramanathapuram district, also has a connection to the Ramayana, as the Shiva linga here was installed by Shri Ram.
