Mumbai Police arrested a 20-year-old man from Noida’s Sector 39 area on Tuesday in connection with a threat call case involving Bollywood actor Salman Khan and late NCP leader Baba Siddique’s son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique. Mumbai Police has taken the accused, identified as Mohammed Tayyab alias Gurfan Khan into custody and are making arrangements to take him on transit remand.

Zeeshan Siddique and Salman Khan received death threat calls on Friday night, October 25. The caller issued death threats for both Zeeshan and Salman and demanded ransom from them. A case was registered after a complaint was made regarding the incident at the Nirmal Nagar Police Station. The threat comes after Baba Siddique was shot by three assailants on October 12, 2024. He was returning from Zeeshan's office in Mumbai’s Bandra East that night. He was then taken to the hospital but could not survive.

In a recent interview, Zeeshan shared that Salman is having sleepless nights since the politician’s murder. He also talked about how other superstars like Shilpa Shetty and Sanjay Dutt came to support his family after the tragic death of his father.

In an interview with BBC Hindi, Zeeshan said “Salman bhai was very upset after Baba Siddique’s murder. Dad and Salman bhai were close like real brothers. After dad’s death, bhai supported a lot. He always checks in on me, every night, he talks to me about being sleepless and all, his support is always there.”

He further mentioned that Shilpa Shetty and Sanjay Dutt visited them after Baba Siddique’s death. Not only that the actress was in an emotional state during that time. Zeeshan further called them their family. ‘

After Baba Siddique's demise, it has been said that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s member was behind the attack. It was a viral post of the member who claimed his involvement in the case and also directed towards Salman Khan. Following this Khan’s security has increased.

In a recent interview with ABP, Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan said that his son is ‘innocent’ and would never harm any animal. The case is related to the 1998 poaching incident which took place in Rajasthan.

Zeeshan Siddique joined the Ajit Pawar-led faction of the Nationalist Congress Party, a few days back. This comes at a time when the Maharashtra Assembly election 2024 is less than a month away. NCP has fielded Baba Siddique's son from Bandra East.

The Maharashtra Assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with counting for all 288 constituencies set for November 23.
