Lawrence Bishnoi Crime List: Hours after three-time MLA and former Maharashtra Minister, Baba Siddique, was shot dead in Maharashtra's Bandra East on Saturday night, a person claiming to be associated with notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi claimed responsibility for the gruesome murder. In his Facebook post written in Hindi, Shibu Lonkar claimed that Siddique was killed due to his connections with Salman Khan and underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim.
Notably, Baba Siddique, Ajit Pawara's NCP leader and a prominent name in Mumbai's politico-business-cinematic circles, was shot dead outside his son MLA Zeeshan Siddique's office by two unknown assailants. Famous for his yearly Iftar parties packed with celebrities, including Salman Khan, and Shahrukh Khan, among others, Baba Siddique was also considered close to many political leaders in the state.
However, Siddique was not the first prominent personality targeted by the transnational gang of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Earlier, many celebrities, singers and political leaders were struck by his shooters - some survived the assassination while many perished. Here's a brief list of some popular names -
Sidhu Moose Wala: Popular Punjabi singer and music producer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead by Lawrence Bishnoi-Goldy Brar gang shooters in broad daylight while he was travelling in his Thar SUV near his village in Punjab's Mansa on May 29. Lawrence had claimed that Canada-based Goldy ordered Moose Wala's killing as the gang suspected his involvement in the 2021 murder of Akali leader Vikramjit Singh alias Vicky Middukhera.
Salman Khan: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan remained on the hitlist of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang for his alleged involvement in the 1998 shooting of a black buck in Rajasthan's Jodhpur during the filming of the blockbuster film 'Hum Sath Sath Hain'. Bishnoi first conspired to kill Salman in 2018 when one of his associates Sampath Nehra, was arrested for allegedly planning to shoot the actor. On April 23, 2024, Salman Khan's Bandra house was targeted by shooters associated with Lawrence Bishnoi.
Gippy Grewal: Punjabi singer and songwriter Gippy Grewal also became a Bishnoi-Brar gang target. Shots were fired at his house in Canada's Vancouver allegedly by Bishnoi gang shooters for his closeness with Salman Khan.
AP Dhillon: This young Punjabi singer who enjoys cult popularity among the youth, was also targeted by the same gang for making a song 'Old Money' that featured Salman Khan. His house in Vancouver was targeted by unidentified shooters.
Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi: A prominent Hindu leader and president of Karni Sena, Gogamedi, was shot dead by shooters in his house on December 5, 2023. Rohit Godara, a gang member of Bishnoi, claimed the responsibility behind his killing.
Sukhdool Singh Gill: A Khalistani separatist, Sukhdool alias Sukha Duneke was gunned down by Lawrence Bishnoi's shooters in September last year.
According to security agencies, Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar might have a strength of 700-800 shooters spanning 11 Indian states and six foreign countries. Apart from Delhi, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Bengal, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Gujarat, Lawrence and Goldie Brar's henchmen have committed many crimes in Canada, USA, Azerbaijan, Portugal, UAE and Russia.
