Former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi commenced the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra alongside his sister Priyanka Vadra from the Jama Masjid intersection in Moradabad on Saturday.
Addressing the public at the Sambhal intersection, Rahul Gandhi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP, accusing them of fostering hatred and diverting attention from the nation's issues while benefitting their associates. He once again called for the need for a caste census in India to ensure fair treatment for all sections of society.
Rahul Gandhi pointed out the rising unemployment rates under the BJP government and criticised the lack of representation for marginalised communities in key institutions. He asserted that the Congress party is committed to addressing these issues and providing equitable opportunities for all citizens.

"This is what the BJP system is, one person will divert you by talking about Bollywood, surgical strike... Meanwhile, Amit Shah will keep an eye. In this country there are 50% backwards, 15% minorities, 15% Dalit, and 8% Adivasi. I want to ask you how much participation these 90% have in this country... How many of these are in media, none... You'll see them in the list of MGNREGA but not in the big companies, the high courts, media. PM Modi says 'Hindustan sabka hai, ye sabka Hindustan kaise hai?' if 90% aren't getting any participation," he said.
Priyanka Vadra echoed her brother's sentiments, stating that the BJP government's tenure has seen an increase in unemployment and administrative failures, such as the recent leak of exam papers. She urged the electorate to demand accountability from political leaders.
“28 lakh students wrote the exam for UP Police but the paper was leaked... As BJP's government is formed in the centre and state, unemployment rates have increased... Until you are not employed, you don't get facilities, paper leaks are not stopped, there will be no development. Change will happen only when you cast your vote according to your experiences," she said.
Several Congress leaders, including Jairam Ramesh, Avinash Singh, Ajay Rai, and Imran Pratapgarhi, accompanied the yatra. The journey is scheduled to proceed through various districts, including Amroha, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Hathras, and Agra.
The yatra is expected to conclude at Fatehpur Sikri, with Priyanka Gandhi continuing to accompany Rahul Gandhi until the end of the journey. SP National President Akhilesh Yadav is also slated to join the yatra in Agra, demonstrating solidarity with the Congress party and INDIA alliance.
