In a public advisory issued on Thursday, Anucheth stated that the Traffic Police Department has received numerous complaints regarding such suspicious activities. He emphasized that the department does not make phone calls to collect fines or penalties.
The Traffic Police Department also advised the public to be alert of calls in which the scammer pretends to transfer the phone to a police officer to validate the legitimacy of the call.
