A man from Bangladesh who had been living in Bhopal for nearly two decades under a false identity as a transgender woman is now facing deportation. Identified as Abdul Kalam, the individual assumed the name ‘Neha Kinnar’ to conceal his real nationality. According to police, Kalam entered India when he was just 17 and lived all these years on forged Indian documents.

Authorities said Kalam had initially settled in Maharashtra before moving to Bhopal’s Mangalwara and Budhwara areas. During this time, he managed to obtain crucial Indian identification papers including an Aadhaar card and a voter ID in the name of Neha Kinnar. These documents helped him blend into society and avoid detection for years.

According to News18 report, the case came to light after the police intelligence unit received a tip-off that Neha was, in fact, a Bangladeshi national residing in India without valid papers. Acting on the input, Talaiya police detained the accused about a week ago. She was living here under a false identity. Our inquiry revealed that she is originally from Bangladesh said police officials.

Further investigation revealed that a case had already been registered against Kalam in 2019 at the MP Nagar police station. We are still questioning him and verifying details about his past activities. His background suggests possible criminal links,” added the official.

Bhopal Police Commissioner has confirmed that a citywide verification drive is underway to identify foreign nationals staying illegally. While deportation orders for Abdul Kalam, alias Neha Kinnar, have not yet been formally issued, the process is expected to begin soon once the investigation wraps up.
