Bankipur Bypolls: The political temperature in Bihar's capital city, Patna, reached its peak on Tuesday, the last day of campaigning for the Bankipur assembly byelection. On the last day before voting, a bizarre incident took place, in which some BJP workers threw pamphlets at RJD Leader Tejashwi Yadav.

BJP And RJD Leaders Face Off During Roadshow

Meanwhile, the election atmosphere heated up near Patna's City Center Mall when the BJP and RJD road shows clashed. A large crowd of supporters from both parties was present. BJP workers began throwing a large number of pamphlets towards RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav's convoy. BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha's road show was passing on one side. Several BJP leaders, including former Union Minister and MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, Bhojpuri actor and Legislative Council member Pawan Singh, and MLA Sanjeev Chaurasia, were present on the campaign chariot.

Yadav was holding a roadshow in support of RJD candidate Rekha Gupta. He was accompanied by a large number of workers and supporters.

Pamphlets Reach Tejashwi Yadav At Roadshow

As soon as the two convoys met, BJP workers began throwing pamphlets at Yadav. It was reported that despite warnings, some workers continued to throw pamphlets.

During this, Singh greeted Yadav with folded hands. Prasad also greeted the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly. Yadav responded with a smile and waved. Several pamphlets also reached Yadav. However, Tejashwi Yadav remained smiling and did not react sharply.

Later, speaking to the media, Yadav said, "These people's actions will make no difference. The people of Bihar have already rejected them." He expressed confidence that the people of Bankipur will vote for change.

It is noteworthy that the byelection for the Bankipur assembly seat was necessitated due to BJP president Nitin Nabin resigning from his MLA post after becoming a Rajya Sabha member.

According to the Election Commission's schedule, voting will take place on July 30, with the results declared after counting on August 3.

The main contest in this byelection is between BJP's Neeraj Kumar Sinha, RJD's Rekha Gupta, and Jan Suraaj's Prashant Kishor.
