Bengal Weather Update: The Meteorological Department has forecast rain and thundershowers across Bengal on Thursday. There is a possibility of heavy rain in nine Bengal districts. Thunderstorms are likely in South Bengal on Thursday. There is a possibility of heavy rain mainly in the coastal and western districts. Heavy rain is expected to hit South 24 Parganas, East and West Burdwan and Birbhum on Thursday. Thunderstorms with lightning may occur in North 24 Parganas, East Midnapore, Nadia and Murshidabad. Additionally, these conditions may be accompanied by gusty winds. On Friday, thunderstorms are expected in Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, 24 Parganas, 24 Midnapore, Jhargram, Purulia and Bankura. The storms may continue till July 6. Kolkata saw partly cloudy on Thursday morning with increased humidity. One or two scattered spells of rain are forecast during the day.

South Bengal Weather

July 3: Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at most places over all the districts of South Bengal with Heavy Rainfall (7-11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over Purulia, West Burdwan, Birbhum and South 24 Parganas districts of South Bengal.

July 4: Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at most places over all the districts of South Bengal with Heavy Rainfall (7-11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over East Burdwan, West Burdwan, Nadia, North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas districts of South Bengal.

North Bengal Weather

July 3: Heavy Rainfall (7-11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Coochbehar and Alipurduar districts of North Bengal.
