Bengal Weather Update: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert across Bengal from Friday, September 26, to Thursday, October 2.  According to the Meteorological Department, the cause of this widespread rainfall is due to a low-pressure system that has formed over the Bay of Bengal.

The pressure system is currently moving towards the coast of Odisha. For the pandal hoppers in Kolkata and across the state, umbrellas and raincoats may become as essential as new festive attire this year. Meanwhile, for the people of North Bengal, incessant rain could throw a wrench in their travel plans.
