Bengaluru Air Quality: The residents of Bengaluru on Sunday expressed concern over the worsening air quality of the capital city of Karnataka in the past few weeks. While comparing the situation to Delhi, the residents stated that the poor air quality has severely affected the visibility in the key regions. The Air Quality Index (AQI) of Bengaluru was recorded between 150 and 170 for the past few days, leading to backlash from the citizens. The social media users asserted that the trash burning in multiple regions, including Mahadevapura, KR Puram, and Whitefield, has escalated the issue.

In their posts on X (formerly Twitter), the residents raised several issues, including overuse of personal vehicles and trash burning. They pointed out that the air quality has worsened remarkably in the past few days, adding that the administration must take solid steps to make the air "breathable". The residents also pointed out that the excessive construction works in most parts of the city have also contributed to the situation.

"It is majorly because of poor roads and unregulated constructions activities. Roads are full of dust making it very difficult to walk," one of the netizens pointed out in his post. "During the winter months the fog and cold conditions accentuate the pollution as it settles down and doesn't dissipate so fast. And to make matters worse road cleaning issues, traffic, garbage ,vehicle pollution makes it even worse," another one pointed out.

"Well, dust and rampant midnight garbage burning. Is this the way to manage waste? How will we breathe? This is K Channasandra Main Road (opposite Rampura Lake)," the third user stated, while sharing a video. However, the situation is likely to improve in the upcoming days as the city is likely to witness light rain for the next few days.
