A political row has erupted in Karnataka after a video surfaced showing a group of men offering Namaz (Islamic prayers) inside Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport. The opposition BJP has objected to the incident, demanding an explanation and accountability from the State Government.
The viral video shows security personnel present nearby as the men offer prayers. Karnataka BJP spokesperson Vijay Prasad questioned Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and RDPR Minister Priyank Kharge, asking whether the individuals had obtained prior permission to pray in a public place, as required under the government’s recently framed regulations.

He wrote on X, “How is this even allowed inside the T2 Terminal of Bengaluru International Airport? Hon’ble Chief Minister @siddaramaiah and Minister @PriyankKharge do you approve of this? Did these individuals obtain prior permission to offer Namaz in a high-security airport zone? Why is it that the government objects when the RSS conducts Patha Sanchalana after obtaining due permission from the concerned authorities, but turns a blind eye to such activities in a restricted public area? Does this not pose a serious security concern in such a sensitive zone?”

The remarks come just days after Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge, on November 3, questioned the transparency of the RSS and called for it to register as an organisation.
“I have no problem with the RSS as long as they seek permission from the government to carry out their activities and register themselves as an organisation. Why are they afraid of Indian laws and the Constitution? Why so secretive? How can an unregistered organisation have lakhs of people marching across the country? And why is the BJP so insistent that the RSS should not follow the law of the land?” Kharge said.
He further questioned the Advanced Security Liaison (ASL) extended to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, pointing out that such privileges are typically reserved for the Prime Minister and Union Ministers of Home and External Affairs.
