Security was heightened at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru after receiving a bomb threat. The threat, received through an email, claimed that two bombs were placed inside the premises to ensure the explosion if plan A fails to work.
A threatening email received late Wednesday night claimed to be from a terrorist, warning of two explosive devices at the airport. The message outlined "Plan A" and "Plan B," suggesting a primary device and a backup in case the first failed to explode. According to the email, one of the bombs was allegedly hidden in a pipeline within an airport toilet.
A large-scale search operation was launched inside the airport after a bomb threat was received. The incident was declared a hoax after officials conducted a thorough inspection and no explosive was found.
A police complaint was filed on the basis of the email threat. According to the police, an investigation is underway to trace the origin of the mail. The operation at the airport remained unaffected as the threat was declared fake.
Earlier, A bomb threat mail was received by Hyderabad's Begumpet airport on Wednesday morning, prompting swift action by police and bomb squads.
According to the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Begumpet Division, the threat was detected early in the day, prompting the deployment of a bomb disposal squad and thorough inspections around the airport and the surrounding area.
“We are currently conducting a thorough search of the airport and its premises with the bomb squad. Further details will be provided later," ACP Begumpet said.
