The Bengaluru Police on Saturday said that three persons were arrested in connection with the Rs 7.11 crore robbery from an ATM cash van.
Speaking about the arrest, police commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said that a police constable from the Govindapura police station, a former CMS employee and the in-charge of the cash refill vehicle were arrested.
The commissioner added that apart from the arrests, Rs 5.76 crore of the looted money has also been recovered.
"We had formed eleven teams and deployed 200 police officers and personnel for the job. More than 30 people were interrogated, and three have been arrested. The vehicle in charge, an ex-employee of CMS Infosystems and a police constable posted in Govindapura police station, have been arrested," Singh said.
He added that six teams were sent to all the southern states and Goa to track the criminals involved. The senior police official revealed that the gang had planned the robbery for three months, during which they surveyed the cash van's route and chose a stretch without CCTV cameras.

On Friday, the investigators achieved a major breakthrough in the case after they uncovered clues which indicated a possible insider link.
Soon after, they detained the constable and the former employee of CMS Info System Limited. CMS Infor System Limited is accountable for managing the cash refill vans.
The robbery took place on November 19, when the unidentified men, allegedly posing as RBI officials, intercepted the ATM cash van in Bengaluru. They fled with Rs 7.11 crore, police said.
The suspects had arrived in a car with a sticker of the Government of India. They intercepted the van, claiming that they needed to verify documents, and forced the staff into their vehicle along with the cash. They later dropped the staff near Dairy Circle and fled with the money.
