Bengaluru Civic Polls 2026: Door-to-Door Voter Verification Starts; Roll Correction Dates, Forms And Helpline Numbers Announced For 369 Wards

Bengaluru Municipal Polls: The Karnataka State Election Commission has started preparations for elections to five municipal corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority. The move follows a direction from the Supreme Court of India, which asked the Commission to complete the elections by June 30.

As part of the process, the Commission has published the draft electoral roll for 369 wards. Voters have been advised to check their details and submit claims or objections within the notified period to ensure accuracy before polling.

Voter details In The Draft Roll

• Total voters: 88,91,411

• Men: 45,69,193

• Women: 43,20,583

• Other voters: 1,635

The final electoral roll will be released on March 16.

Electoral Roll Revision Schedule

• Draft list published: January 20

• Claims and objections period: January 20 To February 3

• Disposal of objections: February 4 To February 18

• Final electoral roll publication: March 16

Door-to-door verification

Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct household visits from January 20 to February 3. During these visits, officials will verify whether eligible residents are included in the draft list and guide voters on corrections if required.

Polling stations and ward-wise voter data

- Total polling stations: 8,044

Total wards: 369 across five municipal corporations

- Highest number of voters:

Ward 23, Bengaluru West municipal corporation – 49,530 voters

- Lowest number of voters:

Ward 16, Bengaluru East municipal corporation – 10,926 voters

If a voter’s name is missing

State Election Commissioner G.S. Sangreshi has urged residents to verify their names in the draft list.

- Eligible voters aged 18 years or above can apply for inclusion.

- Applications should be submitted using Form-4.

- The draft electoral roll is available in PDF format on the GBA’s official website.

- Voters are advised to review their personal details carefully.

Forms for corrections and objections

Applications can be submitted to the Registrar of Voters, Assistant Registrars or BLOs using these forms:

- Form-4: Inclusion of name

- Form-5: Objection to inclusion

- Form-6: Correction of details

- Form-7: Change of address

- Form-8: Deletion of name
