Bengaluru News: A 20-year-old college student interning in Bengaluru has gone viral after sharing videos of a tense confrontation with an auto-rickshaw driver. In the footage, the driver is heard demanding Rs 580, while the student requests proof of the fare on his booking app. The incident has drawn attention online, with the student alleging harassment and the use of racial slurs by the driver.

In his post, the student described feeling threatened by the driver, who allegedly warned him of an attack outside his workplace. “I got harassed and threatened by a Bengaluru auto driver. He told me he would beat me up outside my office whenever I went. He started using racial slurs and asked for Rs 200 extra for no reason. I’m just a 20-year-old college student returning from my internship,” he wrote.

He explained, “I had to pay him Rs 500 (Rs 400 in cash and Rs 100 via UPI) instead of Rs 380 so he would leave me and my friend alone. He had called two of his drunk friends who were threatening to beat us, all while continuously hurling slurs.”

Following the viral post, Bengaluru police took notice and requested more information about the incident. “Please DM your contact number and place of incident,” the Bengaluru City Police official account tweeted.
