Bengaluru Dengue Outbreak: Karnataka's capital Bengaluru is witnessing a surge in Dengue cases, prompting health officials to ensure safety of residents. The Karnataka health department has issued helpline numbers for citizens and Nodal Officers have been appointed for treatment in all government hospitals across the city. These dedicated officers will ensure better patient care, quicker response times, & effective management of dengue cases.

Bengaluru Dengue Outbreak: Karnataka Breaches 1,000 Mark of Dengue Cases
This comes after the state reported over 10,000 so far this year, said the state Health Department on Tuesday. During July 15-16, Karnataka registered 487 positive cases of dengue, which took the cumulative figures to 10,449. The number was recorded from January till date.
Out of the total 10,449 positive cases, 358 are active cases (hospitalised) and the total fatalities due to dengue stands at eight, according to the Health Department bulletin. Of which, as many as 3,770 were reported from BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) jurisdiction, followed by Chikkamangaluru (621) and Mysuru (562).
India's Silicon Valley is preparing to combat dengue cases by putting health officials on alert to ensure that the situation does not get worse or out of hand. Following that, Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundo Rao instructed hospitals in Bengaluru to reserve beds for dengue patients. The minister directed officials to reserve 10 beds in all district hospitals and 5 beds in all taluk hospitals across the state.
"To combat the surge in dengue cases, we have instructed designated hospitals in Bengaluru to reserve specific beds for the management of dengue patients," Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao posted on X (formally Twitter).
"In addition, we have ordered the reservation of 10 beds in all district hospitals and five beds in all taluk hospitals across the state. This increased allocation will ensure timely and effective treatment for those in need," he added in the tweet.
