Bengaluru News: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) along with Cubbon Park police conducted a raid at J W Marriott Hotel on Vittal Mallya Road in the early hours of Sunday. Officers received information that the hotel was hosting a party beyond the permitted time.

When the team entered the premises, they found a large gathering inside the hotel’s resto-bar. Officials said nearly 120 people, including about 30 women, were at the party while loud music played.

Bengaluru Luxury Hotel Raid: Action Against Hotel Management

Police said hotels and restaurants in Bengaluru are allowed to function only until 1 AM. During a routine check, the hotel initially appeared closed, but further inspection revealed that the party was still under way. The Cubbon Park police have registered a case against the management for keeping the venue open past the allowed hours.

The raid began around 2 AM and continued for nearly two hours. It was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime-2) Raja Imam Kasim and included officers from the CCB’s anti-narcotics wing.

Bengaluru Hotel Raid: Suspected Drug Use

While no drugs were recovered at the spot, police suspected some participants had consumed narcotics. On-the-spot medical tests indicated that two individuals were under the influence of substances such as ganja.

According to a Times Of India report, the attendees told police they had taken the drugs earlier at another event. Their claims are being verified as part of the inquiry. Officials said blood samples have been collected and sent for further testing.

A senior officer told The Indian Express that heavy alcohol intake can sometimes lead to a positive reading during preliminary tests. For this reason, advanced analysis will confirm whether narcotics were used.

The Cubbon Park police have registered cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Karnataka Police Act. The investigation is ongoing.
