Bengaluru Jail Birthday Video: Questions on law and order inside jails rose after a video of a rowdy celebrating his birthday behind bars went viral. The video clip originating from Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Prison sparked outrage and triggered a probe as it showed an undertrial prisoner throwing himself a birthday party inside the high-security prison.

The viral video features a rowdy sheeter, Srinivasa, alias ‘Gubbachhi Seena’, who is currently in jail for allegedly murdering a rival earlier this year, as per a social media post.   In the clip, which is doing rounds on the internet, Seena is seen wearing a garland of apples with fellow inmates around him and cutting the birthday cake with a knife as he celebrates the occasion with full flair.

The incident came to light after a family member of the murder victim tipped off the authorities about the video, prompting an investigation into the recording and leakage of the footage, which raises serious questions about security breaches within the prison despite a strict mobile phone ban.

Political Slugfest After Undertrial Prisoner Celebrates Birthday

The incident has also sparked a political controversy. Former top cop and BJP leader Bhaskar Rao criticised the Congress-led state government, questioning how a cake could be smuggled past jail security.

The video was shared by the social media handle @karnatakaportf, questioning the situation of law and order in the jail. 
&nbs “This brazen display exposes a serious failure of security and oversight. Despite claims by authorities that illegal activities in the jail had been curbed, it is clear that certain inmates continue to enjoy royal treatment,” the post read.
