The Central Industrial Security Force later posted the video on X and said their timely response prevented a serious incident.
“Around midnight on November 16, a man armed with a long knife charged towards two taxi drivers at the T1 Arrival area of the Bengaluru Airport. ASI/Exe Sunil Kumar and team acted swiftly, overpowered the attacker and recovered the knife, preventing any harm to passengers or staff,” the CISF said.

The security force added that the accused, along with others involved in the dispute, was immediately handed over to the airport police. According to the CISF, a preliminary inquiry indicated that the attack was linked to an earlier argument.

“A preliminary inquiry suggests that his act was in retaliation for an earlier dispute. CISF continues to uphold its commitment to safeguarding passengers, airport personnel and critical aviation infrastructure,” it said.

A senior police officer confirmed Ahmed’s arrest. “We registered a case under the Arms Act and arrested the accused. He has been sent to judicial custody,” the officer said.

No injuries were reported and the airport operations continued without disruption. Police are investigating the sequence of events leading to the confrontation.
