Bengaluru News: Bengaluru police have arrested a 40-year-old carpenter named Ravi Kumar for the alleged murder of his 14-year-old son, Tejas. The incident occurred at their home in Kashinagar, KS Layout, where Kumar is accused of fatally assaulting Tejas after the boy refused to attend school and study.

Tejas, who is survived by his elder brother and parents, reportedly faced his father's wrath when he asked for repairs to a mobile phone he shared with his sibling, which was mainly used for gaming. According to police reports, Kumar reacted violently, beating Tejas with a wooden log he used for his carpentry work and then slamming the boy’s head against a wall.

He hurried to carry out the last rites and told neighbours that Tejas had passed away from a sudden illness. However, Tejas's mother, Shashikala, grew suspicious and sought help from neighbours to alert the police.

When the authorities arrived, Shashikala explained the situation and subsequently filed a complaint against her husband. This led to Kumar's arrest.
