Bengaluru News: A 32-year-old MBA graduate, Srikanth Reddy, has been arrested for allegedly molesting a woman near an IT park in the city. The incident occurred on April 30 as the victim, a tech employee, was returning home late at night.

According to reports from the Marathahalli police, Reddy, a resident of Devarabeesanahalli, first approached the 26-year-old woman while riding his two-wheeler. He struck her on the back, which she initially thought was an accident. However, Reddy made a U-turn and returned to hit her again more forcefully.

Despite the victim's attempts to raise an alarm, bystanders did not intervene. The situation escalated when Reddy parked nearby and continued to stare at her. Feeling threatened, the woman sought refuge at a security booth and later filed a complaint with the police on May 1, according to a Times Of India report.

The Marathahalli police quickly formed special teams to locate the suspect. Investigators reviewed CCTV footage and identified Reddy's vehicle registration number, leading to his arrest. Authorities are now examining whether he has a history of similar offences.

A senior officer from the Whitefield division stated, “We are verifying if this is an isolated incident or if the accused has targeted other women before.”

The police have registered multiple sections against Reddy, including stalking, as they continue their investigation into the incident.

In a separate incident, a 29-year-old cab driver, Santosh D, was arrested in Kozhikode ten days after he was seen molesting a woman in Bengaluru’s BTM Layout. The incident, captured on CCTV around 1:55 AM, showed him groping one of two women walking down a narrow alley before fleeing. Though the victim didn’t file a complaint, the house owner alerted police. Based on digital evidence, police traced Santosh across 700 CCTV clips, tracking him from Hosur to Kerala. The accused was allegedly drunk during the incident. The victim and her friend have requested not to be involved in the investigation.
