Bengaluru News: A six-year-old girl who got separated from her mother at Bengaluru’s Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Metro Station (Majestic) was safely reunited with her on Saturday afternoon, thanks to a commuter’s alertness and the quick response of Metro officials.
The incident took place around 12:30 PM on November 1, when the station was crowded with weekend commuters. The child reportedly lost sight of her mother in the rush. A passenger who noticed the girl wandering alone immediately approached Metro security and handed her over to the staff.
Metro officials quickly informed all station controllers across the network to help locate the child’s mother. Within a short time, the woman was traced at Mahakavi Kuvempu Metro Station. BMRCL staff then coordinated her return to Majestic, where she was reunited with her daughter.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) praised the timely intervention of both the passenger and its staff members, noting that their presence of mind helped avoid a potentially distressing situation.

In a separate news, a domestic worker in Bengaluru has been arrested after CCTV footage showed her brutally killing a pet dog inside a lift. The incident occurred on Friday in the Bagalur area of north Bengaluru. The footage revealed the woman, identified as Pushpalatha, yanking the dog’s leash and slamming it to the floor while another dog stood nearby. The pet’s owner, who had employed her in September to care for the dog, grew suspicious after the animal’s death and checked the CCTV. Following the discovery, a complaint was filed, and police booked Pushpalatha under charges of animal cruelty. Investigation is ongoing.
