Bengaluru News: Mobility experts in Bengaluru objected to the BBMP's detailed project report (DPR) for the road between Hebbal and Central Silk Board. The experts said that a lot of data used in the DPR for the 16-km tunnel road has been copied from the Namma Metro's report. The remarks from the experts came after they thoroughly studied the DPR prepared by the authorities.

The experts have also questioned the rationale behind using one project's data in another. The DPR for the road between Hebbal and Central Silk Board is prepared by Rodic Consultants. The experts have raised objections, especially on a chapter on the Geotechnical Interpretive Report.

They accused that 100 out of the total 157 pages were based on the study conducted by the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL). The BMRCL is building an underground metro line between Hebbal and Sarjapur.

The authority has accepted that the data and soil tests were conducted by Namma Metro. However, the authority added that specific investigations were not conducted at the stage of preparing ahead of this report. BBMP's DPR stated that additional investigations were advisable to update the alignment and location of the structures.

"During the further stages of the project, additional investigations are advisable to update the alignment, location of structures, and necessary accurate representative design parameters for any emergent design interventions," DPR's statement was reported by Deccan Herald. Apart from this, BBMP’s Engineer-in-Chief BS Prahlad said that the data was taken just for comparison purposes. He clarified that they had conducted a separate investigation too.

“The data was used for comparison purposes. We have also conducted separate geotechnical investigations along the tunnel alignment, in addition to analysing the geophysical data,” Prahlad was quoted as saying by Deccan Herald. The reports suggest that the BBMP has already released about 70 per cent of the payment to the consultancy firm.
