Bengaluru News: A 21-year-old postgraduate student was found dead in her room at the Ramabai Ambedkar Women's Hostel on February 3. The second-year student, studying in the Kannada department at Bangalore University, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her room around 11:00 AM.
Originally from HD Kote taluk, the student had attended classes earlier that day but left midway to return to the hostel. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death and forensic experts have been called to the scene.
A suicide note was found near her body, in which she expressed feelings of betrayal by a friend, stating, "I trusted a friend and was betrayed by him." She also wrote, "Sorry Mom, Dad, I love you."
The body has been transferred to Victoria Hospital for further examination. Authorities plan to file a complaint once the deceased's parents arrive and a comprehensive investigation is underway.
In separate news, a Class 10 student from a tribal ashram school in Maharashtra’s Thane district was found hanging from a tree near the institution, police reported on Monday. The incident occurred on Saturday in the Murbad area, where passers-by discovered the body and alerted authorities.

The deceased, a resident of Khairepada in Palghar district’s Jawhar taluka, was studying at an aided residential school for tribal students. The motive behind the alleged suicide remains unclear.
Upon receiving the information, officers from the Tokawde police station arrived at the scene and sent the body for postmortem examination. A case of accidental death has been registered, and further investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances leading to the tragic incident.
