Bengaluru Rains: The intense rainfall on Wednesday caused severe waterlogging in Bengaluru, affecting the vehicular movement in multiple regions. The commuters of the tech city flooded the social media with the traffic visuals, stating that they remained stranded for hours due to the slow movement. With more rain likely in the coming days, the officials have been asked to take necessary steps to ensure smooth vehicular movement.
Vehicular Movement Disrupted
While the continuous rainfall disrupted traffic in all the lower regions, the worst affected regions were Peenya flyover, Hebbal Ring Road and other nearby underpasses. Apart from this, the vehicles remained stranded for hours near Hebbal Ring Road due to accumulation of water. In their post on X, the commuters criticized the preparations by the authorities and the infrastructure.
The residents also pointed out that they were not able to see the potholes due to the waterlogging, forcing them to slow down. "The roads are so bad that I was scared of falling after hitting a pothole. With the roads waterlogged, it was impossible to see the potholes," a commuter was quoted as saying by Deccan Herald.

More Rain Likely In Bengaluru
The condition is not likely to improve in the coming days as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more rain in Bengaluru and nearby cities. Greater Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda has directed the officials to make necessary preparations to avoid the rush.
"There is a possibility of heavy rainfall in the western, northern, eastern and central parts of Bengaluru over the next two to three days. The Karnataka State Disaster Management Authority has issued an alert. Officials must remain vigilant and take all precautionary measures," Gowda was quoted as saying by the Deccan Herald.
He asked the officials to arrange motors and pumping equipment near the sensitive regions to clear the water. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly.
