Bengaluru Rains: The intense rainfall in Bengaluru on Monday caused severe waterlogging in several parts of the city, leading to inconveniences to the commuters. Along with the rain, the residents also witnessed gusty winds and thunderstorms in the second half of the day. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the city will continue to receive rainfall on Tuesday.
Heavy Rainfall In Multiple Regions
The northern and central parts of the city, including MG Road, Cubbon Road, Halasuru, Indira Nagar, KR Pura, Hebbal, Jakkur, TC Palya, Baiyappanahalli, Shivajinagar, and Gandhi Nagar witnessed intense rainfall on Monday. The vehicular movement in these regions got affected following heavy rainfall, leaving the IT professionals and school students stranded for hours in the evening hours of the day.
Apart from this, several other regions, such as Hennur, Mahadevapura, Doopanahalli, Jayamahal, Palace Guttahalli, Cantonment Railway Station, Kadubeesanahalli Ring Road, CBI Junction Flyover, Koramangala, Hebbal Circle, B Narayanpur, HBR Layout Main Road, and Nagawara Main Road were also flooded due to waterlogging. The commuters faced additional inconvenience around Shivananda Circle, MG Road and many other places in Halasuru.
Rain Alert For Bengaluru
As per the weather department, Bengaluru will continue to witness light to moderate rainfall throughout the day on Tuesday. The residents are set to experience cloudy skies and gentle breeze, especially in the northern and eastern parts of the city. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 28 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature will remain around 22 degrees Celsius.
The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences. They have also been suggested to maximise the use of public transportation for the next two to three days. As per the IMD, the coastal regions of Karnataka are also set to witness moderate to heavy rainfall in the coming days.
