Bengaluru Namma Metro Update: The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) on Thursday stated that the fourth train for the much-awaited Yellow Line is likely to arrive in Bengaluru in the first week of August. It further stated that the two trains are expected to be delivered from September onwards, providing a major boost to the connectivity. Earlier on Wednesday, the authority had emphasised that the Yellow Line will start its operation in August. The BMRCL officials stated that the Yellow Line will provide significant relief to the residents of several key areas by cutting the travel time and reducing the traffic congestion.
While providing details, the authority stated that all 15 trains allocated for the Yellow Line will be delivered before March 2026. Apart from this, the other 20 trains, designed for the Purple and Green lines, are likely to be delivered by October 2026. The BMRCL had clarified that while the infrastructure of the route was ready, the delay in the operation was due to the late arrival of the trains.

While providing clarification, West Bengal-based rolling stock manufacturer Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL) stated that the delay was because of issues with Chinese engineers visas. “The machines were waiting for Chinese engineers to commission them,” TRSL's Deputy Managing Director Pritish Choudhary was quoted as saying by the Deccan Herald. However, he assured that the BMRCL will receive all the due trains in the upcoming months.
Earlier on July 3, the BMRCL had stated that the operation on the Yellow Line is likely to begin in August. "In all likelihood, the safety inspection will take place after July 15. This statutory exercise will take three to four days because this is a big line with many stations," a senior BMRCL official told Deccan Herald.
