Bengaluru is set to witness a major infrastructure growth in the upcoming months with several crucial projects being planned in different regions of the city. The government is planning to build a new 32.15-kilometer double-decker flyover and metro corridor along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to boost the infrastructure of the city. These projects are likely to reduce the traffic congestion, providing a major relief to the commuters.

The officials stated that the state government has planned to build the double-decker flyover from JP Nagar to Hebbal, adding that the project is inspired by the Ragigudda–Silk Board flyover model. The projects are likely to improve the connectivity and reduce traffic congestion, as a large number of employees reside in these regions, traveling to different parts of the Silicon City.

Apart from this, the government has also considered building an additional eight-kilometer elevated road on Magadi Road. The authorities stated that these projects are part of Namma Metro's Phase 3 expansion, adding that the projects will add over 40 kilometers to the metro network. The entire project is reportedly designed as a signal-free, integrated corridor that combines roadways and metro routes, reported Times Now, citing Times Property.

They further stated that the total cost of these projects is expected to be around Rs 9,800 crore, adding that the expenditure will be shared equally between the BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) and Namma Metro. Earlier last month, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar visited the crucial locations to review the updates, later finalising the design changes.

The officials informed that the planned interchange station has been shifted from Peenya to Goraguntepalya, reducing the metro line length by almost 300 meters. They added that the design changes have also helped in the cost deduction, and the travelators will connect the two stations to ensure a better travel experience.
