Virat Kohli’s One8 Commune Pub Past Cases
This isn’t the first time One8 Commune has faced trouble. Last year, the Bengaluru civic body issued a notice to the pub, owned by former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli, following a complaint about fire safety violations.
Located on the sixth floor of Ratnams Complex on Kasturba Road near Chinnaswamy Stadium, the establishment was accused of operating without implementing mandatory fire safety measures or obtaining clearance from the fire department.
Despite being served a notice, the management allegedly failed to respond or take corrective action. The civic body had given the pub a seven-day deadline to explain, warning of legal consequences for non-compliance.
In June 2024, Bengaluru Police also registered an FIR against One8 Commune and other establishments on MG Road for operating beyond the permitted hours.
The FIR stated that the pub remained open until 1:30 am, exceeding the legal closing time of 1 a.m., and cited complaints about loud music played late at night as the basis for action.
