Bengaluru Power Cut: Karnataka’s Chitradurga district will face a three-day power cut from July 10 to 12, 2025, as authorities carry out infrastructure work to relocate electricity poles.
The scheduled power outage is due to ongoing construction of a cement concrete road along the Mathighatta, Lingadahalli route. As part of the project, electric poles are being shifted, requiring a temporary suspension of power supply in the impacted areas.

Bengaluru Power Cut: Affected Areas
According to a press release from the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM), power will be suspended in Nellikatte, Mathighatta, and Todaranalu, areas served by the Devarapura power station.
BESCOM Assistant Executive Engineer Virupakshappa confirmed the outage, stating that the work is crucial for road development and public safety, and that the power cut is unavoidable due to the relocation of electric poles.
Residents in the affected areas are advised to make necessary preparations and plan ahead for the four-day power outage.
Power Cut Advisory
With a six-hour power outage expected, residents are advised to take the following precautions:
Fully charge phones, laptops, and emergency lights in advance
Store enough water for drinking, cooking, and other household needs
Avoid using elevators during the outage for safety reasons
Postpone using high-power appliances until electricity is restored

Earlier the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) had announced a power outage in several parts of Bengaluru on Saturday, 5 July 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This interruption is necessary to carry out urgent system upgrades and essential maintenance work at the 220 kV power station in HSR Layout.
Residents were advised to expect intermittent power cuts throughout the day and are encouraged to plan accordingly. BESCOM has requested the public’s cooperation during this period.
