Bengaluru News: Bengaluru residents are expected to face a scheduled power cut, as the local electricity provider, Bescom, has announced power supply disruptions in several areas on Saturday. Bescom has stated that power supply will be suspended from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday in parts of Koramangala, Ejipura, Domlur and surrounding localities. This is to facilitate essential maintenance work on the 66/11-kV Amarjyothi substation. Furthermore, there will be a power cut from 9 am to 5 pm in G.M. Palya, Ramaiah Reddy Layout, and Vignananagar.

Bengaluru Power Cut On Saturday: Affected Areas

According to The Hindu report, in the Kormangala Division, the affected areas include, Srinivagilu, Cauvery Layout, Ejipura, Rama Temple, Aradhana Layout, Viveknagar, Domlur 14th Cross, Kodihalli, K.R Colony, Inner Ring Road Koramangala, Gundappagowda Road, Sundari Memorial Area, Amarjyothi Layout, ST Bed area, Chandra Reddy Layout, Koramangala and surrounding areas.

Additionally, from 9 am and 5 pm power supply will be disrupted in several areas, including G.M. Palya , Ramaiah Reddy Layout, and Vignanangar.

Meanwhile, the 220/66/11-kV GIS EDC Station serving areas such as Residency Road, Lavelle Road, Church Street, Walton Road, Vittal Malya Road, Kasturba Road, M.G. Road, Residency Road Cross, St. Mark’s Road, Queens Circle, and surrounding areas will experience power disruptions from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday in view of maintenance work.

NH75 Blocked: Bengaluru and Mangaluru Key Route Disrupted

The heavy rainfall experienced in central and coastal Karnataka has also resulted in significant travel disruptions. Multiple landslides have blocked National Highway 75, the key route connecting Bengaluru and Mangaluru. Vehicles travelling from Hassan to Bengaluru are being diverted through Mysuru and Madikeri to avoid the congestion.

The movement of heavy vehicles has been stopped at Charmadi Ghat, and authorities have advised tourists to exercise caution as the rains are expected to continue for the next four days. National Highway 275, connecting Sampaje and Madikeri, has also been closed from 8 pm to 6 am daily until 22 July due to the threat of landslides and rockfalls.
